I am often asked what an individual is meant to be doing
with his or her life. Where are they
supposed to live, what is their correct job, what is their purpose in
life. The simple answer is, you are
right where you are meant to be, in the right place, in the right time.
Fate, while it dictates certain events to happen in our
lives and the means of getting to our life lessons on time, does little to
present events in our day to day lives.
So you are with the people you are meant to be with, you are working at
the correct lessons for where you are on your path, and though you may yearn
for better things in life, more meaningful things, you are doing exactly what
you came into this life to do.
Sometimes we feel that there is more than our simplistic
life. We want to be part of the change
in the world, the part that brings more enlightenment to the world. In that regard, we hold the answers: meditate, pray, surround yourself with
harmony in the people you interact with, be at peace with yourself.
Many people believe that the reason they’re having a
mid-life crisis is that they don’t feel they are doing what they are meant to
do. The truth of it is that they are not
taking time out from busy schedules to reward themselves with “me” time, in
which they reward themselves for doing the job that once thrilled them to the
core. So they become stressed, bored, even
bitter, for doing what once felt like a dream job.
The easy solution is to spend 30-60 minutes each day, doing
something just for yourself. Some people
like to listen to soft music. Others
like to read. Some would like to take a walk in the woods, while others still,
would like to knit or crochet or work with wood. It doesn’t matter so much what you do, so long
as it takes your mind off the stresses of the day. Use the gifts that you have been given to
accomplish change in the lives of others, but save some time to yourself to
reward those accomplishments. This is
how to keep a fresh attitude with your life’s choices, reduce stress and keep
smiling with regard to what you choose to do for your vocation.
May you be richly blessed!
