One

the Light enters my mind
it works from black fire on white fire
then the reverse emerges
perfection, balance, all colors glow
healing each name, each body, each soul
becoming the wonderful one you are meant to be
as I send Light into the world
to relieve the pain and sorrow
that has become the regular story
but if we remember the power of the Universe
that makes all things new
that heals all wounds, all sores,
that takes your foot from the snare
we shall be as one

The Fight Within

With the chaos that is ensuing in our world:  natural disasters, mass shootings, political unrest, for example, it is not difficult to understand that many of us are conflicted as to how to respond.  We may know in our hearts that what we wish to send out into the world is love for our fellows of humanity, yet we cannot seem to control our anger over the injustices that we see on the evening news.

The first thing that we need to do, in order to regain some self control, is to acknowledge that we feel angry over the situations.  Acknowledging the problem, identifying it, is half the battle.

Second, by realizing that those who oppose us are not evil, demented, stupid or lazy, that they actually have reasons for believing the way that they do, we can return to being respectful and honest in our interactions.

Third, we need to understand that many of our feelings are the result of actual fear about our world and our fellow human beings. This is where faith comes in.  If we can take a few minutes each day to meditate on our fears, releasing them and restoring a sense of balance, we can reduce both the fear and some of the anger that has taken over our feelings.

While the anger that injustices are happening all around us is real and warranted, we can take time to release some of this through deep breathing and meditation, yoga, and journaling.  Express what you feel in writing while also practicing relaxation exercises.  This is not a quick fix, rather, it is something that will happen gradually, over time.  Doing your best to stick with it every day will help you to feel more relaxed and calm when confronted with what amounts to losses.

When you are faced with people who don’t agree with you, it is tempting to become angry and reactive.  When they come at you, if you step back and allow yourself to remain calm, you will be able to remain in control, negating attempts to unsettle you.  As Michelle Obama was known to say, “When they go low, we go high.”

Finally, know that the Creator is in charge of this and all situations.  The Universe will always come to a point of balance, thus, what is happening at this time is an attempt to come to balance.  If there are bad things happening in the natural world, it’s because we have mistreated it.  If there are bad things happening with people, it may be because we have overpopulated our world.  If there are outrageous things happening in our politics, it is because we have left our politicians have full play without being accountable for too long.  The Creator knows what to do about these things, even if we shake our heads in uncertainty.  Practice affirmations that uplift and comfort.  The Universe is listening and all will be well.

May you be richly blessed.

The Intelligent Universe

When we talk about Metaphysics in the Universe, we are perhaps familiar with the expression, “AS ABOVE, SO BELOW.”
This means that the energy of the greater physical world is the same as the small physical world.  What is true of the Universe, is true of our solar system, and what is true of our solar system is true of our own brains.  Not only is it true in larger sense, therefore, but it is also true of the tiniest part of our bodies.

There is a new concept of the Universe, called Biocentrism.  It suggests the idea that, “If a tree falls in the woods and there is no one there to see it, did it fall?”  We have heard this expression, but perhaps, were not aware of its greater meaning.  The point is, when it comes to physics, macro, micro or quantum physics, there is a hole in the concept.

It has to do with particles that go through a hole in a divider.  If one is watching, the particle appears as a single object and goes through one hole.  If, however, the object is not being observed, it acts as a wave and goes through more than one hole.  These concepts are hard to grasp at first, but it illustrates that our world is more than just a collection of objects.  It suggests that we must have a conscious role in making the universe that which it is.

Since we have a role in the observation of matter, we have a manner in which to control, influence and improve our situation in life.  The more people who believe in the power of good, for example, the stronger good things become.  By focusing on positive outcomes, we surround ourselves with good things.  If we expect the best in people, they will respond by doing good things and become better people.

We can use our minds, then, to improve things around us and in the world.  While I do not suggest that you ignore the negative things that are going on, I do suggest that you put the white light of protection around yourselves.  In doing so, you are also influencing the energy around you to be positive.  As you protect yourself, you protect the world around you.  If you can visualize white light around your neighborhood, your city, your state, the world, you influence the good that you can receive and that you will see in your universe.

May you be richly blessed.

We The People

With the two indictments of officials close to the president, it may seem that our country is falling apart.  It may, in fact, be, but we have reason to hold our heads high.  While the federal government is issuing decrees that disrupt the environment, eliminate regulations on various industries, and the tariffs that are causing even farmers to have problems, the states are stepping up and showing that We The People have a say in how our government will be run.

That said, there are still things that the president’s government is doing that is disturbing, to say the least.  The jailing of innocent children without their parents is unconscionable.  Allowing wild animals to be hunted in their dens is unconscionable.  Breaking with the nations with whom we have had treaties and commitments over many different presidential careers is unconscionable.

It is important that we acknowledge these things and do what we can to put a stop to such abhorrent policies.  How do we do it?  Some people prefer to sign petitions and participate in demonstrations.  Some people like to call their congress members.  The important thing is to do something.  We can’t just allow these policies to go unchecked.

The single most important thing is to accept that our government is doing these things which so blatantly go against our personal and religious values.  You may say that he is doing these things because they must be done.  Or that he is justified in doing what is best for the people.  That is not true.  He is backing industry and undoing things that are meant to help our environment and protect the interests of the people.  I ask you, what or who is being helped by the unsportsmanlike killing of bears in their dens as they sleep?  Who benefits from drilling for oil in national parks?  Who benefits from the revitalization of coal mines?  Do not give up your truth to patronize someone as unworthy as our president.

Finally, I ask that you support policies that bring us together as a nation.  The saddest thing is that our country is being polarized and we are not coming together as Americans.  This has nothing to do with whether football players stand for the National Anthem.  It is about what we, the American People, do in our daily lives and hold together.

May you be richly blessed.

Into The Future

steps along a woodland path
stones to pave our heartfelt journey
stirs the mind, the senses, scents
with colors bright and light rays sturdy
now imagination flows as rain filters down
but we don’t run and we don’t hide
we trust, we absorb, we relish the shower
and as the droplets run down the face
we accept the dust as it rolls off, with pleasure
for we are being renewed, revitalized
and momentarily, we accept our new role
our feat of daring without desperation
step lively forward into the future

Holding Hands

There is something closely akin to a civil war going on in our country these days.  We are so firm in our own beliefs and many people prefer not to accept those with differing opinions into their circle of friends.
We see this on Facebook on a daily basis, and, perhaps, this is part of the problem.  We are all so much on the lookout for Fake News that we fail to take note when something has a ring of truth. When we communicate with our peers, we do things that we feel will intentionally make them angry.  Why, as grown people, are we less interested in the wellbeing of our country, of our friends and family, than trying to make others angry?
At this point in time, we must let loose of the notion of getting a rise out of those of differing opinions and consider what is in the best interest of our country.  We must.  Why? you say.  If we continue to have such derision among our circle of close friends, the concept of a civil war is not just possible, but it will be likely.  Our demonstrations have already begun to be violent, with looting and damage to businesses and people alike.
In addition, we have separation of the races like never before. Even in the heyday of the post Civil War era, there were not the murders by the enforcing populace as we are seeing today.  Or, there were, but without the kind of reporting that we have in this day and age, it is getting more attention. Entirely possible.
To keep our country together, we must begin to do things that are based in the respect of all persons.  Are you angry? Tell someone why. Acknowledge that your friends and family are intelligent, reasonable people.  I know it doesn’t seem that way sometimes, but it is true. Use that to express what you believe and why in a respectful manner.  Don’t just save that concept for the people who agree with you. It will pay off quickly. The more people who put this into practice, the more it will become the norm instead of the exception.
Respect is a simple thing.  Listen with your heart and give someone the floor to finish his or her thoughts.  If you disagree, wait until they have finished and then state your beliefs in a calm voice.  Acknowledge that you come from a different place when it comes to opinions, but acknowledge it anyway.
If you are getting your news strictly on Facebook, may I suggest that you pay close attention to the nightly news on one of the networks.  Or look up the newswires. Get your information without a spin on it that could, in fact, come from a place that is intentionally trying to cause separation among our people.  Call it Russia or China or Hell’s Bells, but be aware that there is a faction out there who is rejoicing in our separation.
Lastly, think of who you are as a person.  What do YOU want with your life, with your country?  Don’t just accept what is being said by anyone without checking the facts.

May you be richly blessed.

Heroes

Historically, when we think of heroes, names like Hercules, Wonder Woman, Batman, etc., come to mind.  We may also think of our public defenses, thus making heroes of soldiers, police, and medical personnel.  What about our sports heroes?  Yes, them, too. What surprises us is when our fellow, meager human beings do fantastic things and get the application of hero.
What does it take to make a hero?  Does a hero have to save lives?  Does he or she bring excitement and make us feel as if our own status is raised, as when we align our thinking with sports stars or political figures?  Arguably, that makes us heroes by proxy, because it is not actually ourselves who are the heroes, rather, we gain prestige by becoming party to the team, so to speak, of the individual who is the actual hero.
Let us consider the dictionary definition of hero:  “a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character.”
In this regard, anyone of characteristic behaviour that benefits others, including emergency rescue workers, firemen, doctors and nurses, all fit this description.  So what does Joe Schmoe have to do to accomplish recognition as a hero?
Perhaps the thing that stands out in our minds as heroic is going the extra mile to change someone else’s life in a positive way.  How about the teacher who spends extra money to get needed classroom supplies?  How about the stranger who, walking down the beach, notices someone sinking beneath the waves and runs out to save him or her?  What about someone who knows there are children trying to get out of a burning house?  All of these circumstances are opportunities to influence someone else’s life for the better.  But let’s dig deeper.
Think of the person standing in line at a grocery checkout who notices the person ahead counting out a handful of pennies to pay the last little bit of what is a small grocery bill in the first place, and chooses to pay the balance for him.  The person for whom she pays is blessed by the act and may, in time, be moved to pay for someone else who is struggling.  Also, those who witness this act may be moved to help others in the same or some other kind way.  This kind of act is not only heroic, but it starts a ripple effect that needs never end.
How about someone who sees a person fumbling with heavy packages and offers to carry some of them or helps with a door?  Maybe he or she had to cross a road to get there, but the important thing is that they helped.
Seemingly small efforts that bring smiles, lifts burdens, and opens the way for better things to come into someone else’s life are heroic, and each one of us can find an opportunity to do so.

May you be richly blessed.
